Hal & Carrie –

Hal Mertz and Carrie Gifford are the husband and wife team behind Red Cap Cards. Red Cap Cards is a celebration of art and correspondence. Janet & Darrell –
Janet and Darrell are the co-founders of Fox & Fallow. After years in the wedding industry, making cute & quirky stationery, chalkboards and timber signs for brides and grooms across Australia and the world, they thought it was time to introduce a ready-made line for retailers. Janet’s background is in graphic design and art direction. After 10 years in design studios and advertising, her passion for calligraphy, hand lettering and illustration drove her to create her own company where she could create beautiful, handcrafted products for those who share her love of design and typography. In partnership with Darrell’s passion for carpentry and hand-crafted goods (albeit a lawyer by day), Fox & Fallow could expand to include hand-made chalkboards and timber products with Janet’s hand-lettered artwork. Liz Macpherson and Ami Murphy are the Founders of Mac & Murphy, a nationally recognized Paper goods shop in Charleston South Carolina.   Mac & Murphy is best known for their whimsical collections of stationary, note cards, invitations, journals and more. When it comes to selling wholesale products to retailers there is a lot more involved than having a great brand or wonderful designs. The type of wholesale brand you want to develop and what it means to design for wholesalers versus direct retail and nurturing key relationships with buyers and artists are key components of the business. Red Cap Cards curates artists that represent their brand and sell wholesale to companies like Paper Post.

Session Two: Establishing Wholesale Relationships with Fox and Fallow

Growing your stockists list is essential to grow a thriving paper goods business. Fox and Fallow have both a good story to tell that creates a warm, fuzzy, feeling but they also know strong tactics when it comes to selling to retailers and nurturing long term relationships for a thriving business.

Session Three – Making Retailers Love You with Mac and Murphy

Deciding what products you will sell from your shop is a priority when you start a stationery business. Choosing a name, signage, buying strategies to fill your shop are a few parts of the initial plan. The style of goods that sets the shop apart is a rich part of the creative spirit that reaches customers and wholesalers. Mac and Murphy has this down. They are established and will be sharing their story and guidance.
