About the instructors:
Verónica Grech is a freelance professional illustrator living and working in the northwest coast of Spain. She is graduated in Fine Arts and Design at San Carlos University in Valencia. She enjoys creating strange and fun characters, poetic portraits and colourful urban scenes and landscapes. Her artwork is inspired by all types of mid-century illustration and the nostalgia of white and black old photography. She loves ancient and archaic art and she is fascinated by the era of the archeology and the first explorers. As a point of departure she rarely starts working at the computer but her final art is digital. She always like doing sketches with traditional media for the projects and explore the beauty of work with colored pens and watercolors.
Doug Chayka is a freelance illustrator currently based in Berlin, Germany. His clients include The Nation, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, The Boston Globe, and many others. He began freelancing in the late ’90’s and landed his first editorial assignments at the Kansas City Star while also working on picture book projects. He taught illustration full-time at Ringling College of Design (2009-10) and Savannah College of Art and Design (2010-12), and on an adjunct basis at Pratt Institute, City College of New York, Rochester Institute of Technology, and The Illustration Academy. Many different people and places have helped shape his point of view as an artist. It’s a process that is ongoing and grows with every new client and each unique challenge.
Beth Walrond is a Freelance Illustrator, working full-time on illustrations for magazines, publishers and advertising. Originally from the UK, Beth is now based in Berlin, Germany.
