Bonnie Christine is a surface pattern designer, fabric designer for Art Gallery Fabrics, teacher and creator of Going Home to Roost. In addition to sharing all that she knows with the Roost Tribe, you can find her working in the garden and spending time with her husband and children. Bari J. Ackerman is a fabric, designer, seamstress, and artist who is well known in the fabric industry for her whimsical designs and bold eye for pattern and color. Bari launched her first business in 2005 creating finished handbags that were sold in boutiques all over the US and on ebags.com’s Rising Designer section. After several years, she decided she needed her own fabric for the bags, and taught herself to design fabric. A year later, Bari licensed her first line of fabric. Since then she has created twelve+ collections of fabric, art for wall paper, home decor, wall art, stencils, stationery, invitations and much more.

Andie Hanna is a textile designer, illustrator and photographer. Andie spent more than fifteen years designing and developing products for the some of the nation’s top brands. She worked for JCPenney (Arizona Jean Company), Limited Too, Mossimo Girls at Target and most recently as the head designer at Thirty-One Gifts. Andie left the corporate world three years ago to launch her own surface pattern design business. She has since launched her own line of designer fabrics with Robert Kaufman and managed a number of custom textile, commissioned photographer and illustration projects.

Session One –Building Your Business with Bonnie Christine.

Bonnie Christine is a surface pattern designer, teacher and author of Going Home to Roost. Bonnie is a self-taught designer who has turned her passion into a career. She’s passionate about teaching what she knows to help others and now has a worldwide audience for her work.  Since launching, Bonnie has designed 8+ fabric lines with Art Gallery Fabrics. You can also find her work on wallpaper, wall stencils, tech cases, ribbon, artwork and more.

We will cover:

– Building your portfolio from scratch
– Finding opportunities and building your business

Session Two  – Finding your Style and Creating a Collection with Bari J

Session Three: Creating products people love with Andie Hanna

Andie Hanna is an independent fashion designer, textile designer, illustrator and photographer. Andie spent more than fifteen years designing and developing products for the some of the nation’s top brands. She worked for JCPenney (Arizona Jean Company), Limited Too, Mossimo Girls at Target and most recently as the head designer at Thirty-One Gifts. Andi has always been passionate about design, and spent her spare time developing prints, custom designs and couture clothing for her friends and family. Andie left the corporate world three years ago to launch her own surface pattern design business. She has since launched her own line of designer fabrics with Robert Kaufman and managed a number of custom textile, commissioned photographer and illustration projects.

We will cover:

– How brands approach new product design
– Creating designs that brands will love
– Considering products when developing designs
